Samsung Slash M310 Reviews

Nice Styling, Performance, and Features
Rating:

The Samsung 'Slash' is a solid phone; one of the newest and best thus far from Virgin Mobile. It is of a very good build quality, unlike all others that have come before it (cheap, feels like a kids phone, plastic). There is a very nice chrome feel, the slider works very smoothly and opens quickly almost on its own.

Expect excellent call quality, as well as a great speakerphone. Calls come in crystal clear; the speakerphone works flawlessly thanks to the two-way capability (virtually no breakups while you're talking to the person and vice versa). Signal strength is much better than average. Battery life is respectable.

The phone's screen is large and of very good quality. The keypad lights up uniformly in an off-white color. The proprietary Virgin Mobile interface is well laid out and operation is quick, as is checking your balance and internet/Virgin XL access. Ringtones and graphics are more respectable, heading more in the trendy vs. kid direction. Ringtone volume fades in gradually vs. ringing full-on; expect to set a high volume for both this and the speakerphone for optimal sound.

The simple camera works good enough. There's no flash, but the phone compensates white balance for low-light conditions. It is only VGA (640x480) resolution and does not have any zoom. You have controls for brightness, white balance, color chooser and fun frames. Setting a photo as wallpaper fills the entire screen nicely.

The phone does NOT record video or play music. I haven't tested Bluetooth capability, but my take is it will work great.

I would encourage anyone who wants to upgrade their Virgin Mobile phone to check this Samsung phone out, I promise you won't be disappointed. It is VM's best phone to date with a solid feature set and build quality.

great phone
Rating:

its a really nice phone it has really good blue tooth connection to your headset but i have yet to check the pc. The best thing i love about this phone is the size of it because its really compact and not bulky. but offers most of your smart phone features such as mobile email, texting, music and web if it had mobile tv it would be untouchable. I have had quite a few phones in the past this is not the most powerful of them but the weight is awesome.
What else can i say just get one but don't be texting on it while talking for 3 hours it gets hot.

Looks great, performs fair, and is expensive.
Rating:

I have yet to purchase this phone; however, I have handled it in the store, checked out reviews for it online, and compared it to other phones. The phone handled well and had a nice, good-quality feel to it, unlike some of the more plastic-like feeling Virgin Mobile handsets. The buttons are easy to push, but may be a little crammed for big fingers. The phone slides super easy and is really smooth; I couldn't help but slide it multiple times while I was looking at it! The battery life is actually pretty good, despite the low talk-life listed on this site. However, the phone's claim to fame, its camera, leaves much to be desired. The screen resolution is fair, and colors are alright but lackluster. Overall, it's a pretty basic, but good quality phone, especially from Virgin Mobile.

My biggest gripe would have to be the price. For 80$, you could get a much better sliding phone or even a smartphone from a better network, and, like with the Wildcard, I think VM got a little too confident with their pricing.

This phone would be good for people who want good quality and smooth performance in a phone but that aren't so big on texting, picture-taking, and the like. All in all, I recommend it as a good, reliable starter phone.
