Samsung TwoStep R470 Reviews

it's ok at first
Rating:

pros: sound quality is good. I like the MP3 player and it takes a decent pic. It was free after rebate with a 2 year contract

cons: recently my version of the phone has started shutting itself off randomly. I won't have it in my pocket or anything just in my hand and will go to use it and it is off. I didn't turn it off. It also shuts itself off after I make a call if I do not end the call first. My husbands version of the same phone, just a different color, overheats just sitting on a shelf or the kitchen counter, even sitting unused.

would definitely not get this phone again.

I miss my Nokia!!! That was the best phone EVER! I dropped it, accidentally left it for a few hours with a bag of groceries that I put in the freezer, and many more not so great things to it and it still worked. This one was not even dropped and doesn't work right.

Geat MP3 Player, stinky phone
Rating:

PROS - MP3 player works well, great with added song storage on memory card.
Phone looks good. Feels solid.

CONS - Voice dialing is absolutely more dangerous than just holding the phone in your hand and dialing. It doesn't work quickly, easily, or at all many times.

Earpiece is great for an MP3 player, but not so convenient for on the road calls. Make sure you use the short side, or people won't hear you, since the mouthpiece will be hanging down at your belly button.

Seemed to drop more calls that it should have.

Am a former Nokia 6255i customer at US Cellular. Will try to get Nokia to fix the phone so I can go back to it.

So, what was Samsung thinking? Lets make an MP3 player for the cell phone market? Huh? Nokia still has the best voice dialing system, hands down.

If you need a phone to be a phone, skip this one. It's for the teeny boppers obviously.

Samsung two step
Rating:

I really love just about everything about the two step. However I'm having one problem, when I'm on the phone and a call comes in through call waiting the phone automatically shuts off, hangs up on the person I'm talking to and re powers back on.

Great basic phone
Rating:

This a very good basic phone with some nice features. Great reception and fantastic battery life. Loading songs is a breeze. My computer recognized and set up the phone as a hard drive with the Micro SD card installed then it was just a matter of dragging and dropping the MP3 files into the music folder the phone created. So easy. The MP3 player sounds great with good ear buds but the stock headset is very tinny sounding and I would only use it for answering the phone when driving. Great free phone.

It's a fair phone
Rating:

The few complaints I have is that you can only listen to the music player with a microchip only. I think this phone should be able to allow full length songs to be saved on the phone as well. It gets very costly with some of the available compatible applications that U.S. Cellular has for this phone. With the unlimited minute, text messaging plan, and easyedge plans I will pay an estimated $100 monthly and that's not including the web browser application at an additional $19.99/month. The middle soft keys are too small for my thumb; I tend to hit other the keys. I feel there will be other versions of this phone but I will not buy it. Other than that the phone has a lot of useful features. The stereo speakers just kicks it to another level, the sound is clear and loud enough to here the music.
