Samsung SGH-A167 Reviews

Basic phone, nice design.
Rating:

I just got this phone for 50 bucks. I love the blue design of the phone. The phone is compact and light, and it has an internal and external display.

The external display is monochrome, which I prefer because I only want to see time, signal and battery indicators, and caller ID, which monochrome does well.

The internal display is not great, but not horrible either. It works for playing games, and sending the occasional text. Images don't look stellar.

This phone is primarily for voice usage, which it does well. Calls are nice and clear, no complaints. Signal strength varies, but I have not yet dropped a call. The phone has a camera, which I don't use, but if you like that feature, you get that here.

The battery life is very good. If you just talk and text, it will last you more than a day.

The keypad is basic and easy to use. The phone's hinge is very sturdy, which I like. Too many clamshell phones have a loose hinge, which is not good.

I can't say its a perfect phone because the screen is pretty unimpressive, and the features are minimal. There is a surprising amount of memory on this phone, which I like for games, etc.

In a nutshell, if you want a clamshell phone for talking and the occasional text message, this clamshell is a good choice. Available with AT&T's cellular service.

I LOVE THIS PHONE!
Rating:

I purchased this phone as a back up, in case my main personal phone fails. I tested it out for a few weeks and here is what I have found so far.

PROS

- good call quality (very few to no dropped calls)

- speaker phone is clear: almost no breaking up during a call

- royal blue color

- reject list

- currency converter and world clock

- tip calculator

- strong battery life: for the amount of time I use it

- small enough to fit in my pocket

- camera (the quality is not all that great on it, but hey. It's better than nothing)

CONS

I don't really have any cons about this product, but I did find a few things that could be changed to make the device better.

- camera quality

- the buttons could be raised up more and more rounded (they're pretty flat and it's hard to feel what

Other than that, I really like this device and highly recommend it to one looking for a reliable back up phone.
